Productivity, Inc., Lunch-N-Learn Event

SURFCAM to be Exhibited Feb. 20 at Productivity, Inc., Lunch-N-Learn Event

On-machine probing and inspection will be demonstrated at the educational event, which will feature a presentation by Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence

A SURFCAM lunch-n-learn event designed to teach attendees about the merits of validating part quality with on-machine probing and inspection will take place Feb. 20 at the facility of metalworking products and services provider Productivity, Inc., in Plymouth, Minnesota.

In addition to Productivity, Inc., featured manufacturing-industry participants at the educational event include Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Productivity Quality, Inc., and Applied CIM Technologies, Inc.

“Our attendees will learn how probing and programming concepts can provide process validation or inspection while the part is still clamped in the machine,” said President Tom Glisczinski of Applied CIM Technologies, Inc., who notes that manufacturers who produce high-value parts have much to gain from on-machine inspection. “This allows dynamic correction of offset errors with no or limited operator intervention for high-value, large, complex and close-tolerance parts.”

The lunch-n-learn, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., includes lunch at no cost and a demonstration of live inspection on both a Matsuura LV500 and a Haas VF2. The event will also cover probe validation, CNC programming and post-processing examples, results and reports, feedback and process correction, and more.

In addition to manufacturers who machine high-value parts, managers, engineers and programmers involved in machining process planning, and quality managers and engineers seeking to improve processes are encouraged to attend.
