4/5 Axis
Construction View machining greatly simplifies the task of machining on multiple faces of a part. Whether
programming multiple setups on a 3-axis machine, or utilizing 4/5-axis machines for 3+2 milling, the active
construction view automatically sets the tool-axis orientation.
Leave your part in model space and easily machine in any orientation. There is no need to translate and /or rotate
your model to get it into “machine space.”
Function Specific
A powerful suite of “function specific” toolpaths automate most common operations, such as facing, milling O-ring
grooves, chamfering and rounding corners, and hole-making.
These common, everyday tasks can be very time consuming, often requiring manual calculations and multiple toolpaths.
SURFCAM’s function-specific toolpaths are highly automated. Generate a sophisticated, efficient toolpath that roughs and
finishes an O-ring groove, for example, including preparing an entry hole for a dovetail cutter, in seconds.
